CARE GUIDE
Every Dâderbânu piece is made by hand from natural materials — brass, leather, and stone. These are living materials: they change, soften, and deepen with time. A little care keeps your piece with you for years.

Everyday care
Wipe your piece clean with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid contact with water, perfume, hand cream, and household chemicals — these can mark the leather and dull the metal. When you're not carrying it, keep it in its dust bag, away from damp and direct heat.

Brass (raw finish)
Our raw brass carries a light protective finish, but this is not a permanent barrier. Over time the metal will darken and develop a natural patina — a warm, deepening tone that is part of the character of the piece, not a flaw. Many people come to love it.
If you'd rather keep it bright, gently buff the brass with a soft polishing cloth now and then. If you prefer to let it age, simply leave it — the patina will settle on its own.
Brass (silver-plated)
The silver plating carries a light protective finish that slows tarnishing, but gentle signs of wear are natural over time and part of the life of a handmade piece. Keep it away from water and perfume, and wipe only with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid silver polishes and abrasive cleaners — these can wear through the plating.

Leather
The leather will soften and develop its own character as you carry it. Keep it away from water; if it does get wet, let it dry naturally, away from direct heat. A small amount of natural leather balm, applied sparingly once or twice a year, will keep it supple. Marks and a deepening colour are part of how good leather ages.
Stone
The stones are natural and set by hand. Avoid knocks and hard surfaces, and keep them away from perfume and chemicals, which can dull their surface. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.

Refresh & Restoration
Because these are objects made to last, we offer a Refresh & Restoration service — up to two times over the lifetime of your piece.
Years of carrying can dry the leather, loosen a stitch, wear the protective finish, or unsettle a stone. Send your piece back to us and we'll care for it by hand: nourishing the leather, re-working the stitching where needed, refreshing the protective finish, and checking the setting and assembly.
You choose how we treat the metal — we can preserve the patina it has earned over the years, or brighten it back up. The choice is yours.
Please note:
  • This is a refresh, not a rebuild. We care for the original piece — we don't replace its materials.
  • Deep scratches, dents, and structural damage from heavy impact cannot be undone.
  • The service is offered up to twice per piece, over its lifetime.
  • Return shipping to us is covered by you; we cover the care itself.
